Centerpiece Puppies was founded by Katie in 2019—just three weeks before the birth of her fifth baby! What began as a case of “puppy fever” after meeting her sister’s Bernese Mountain Dog puppy quickly grew into the perfect stay-at-home-mom job and a passion for raising exceptional family dogs.

As the program grew, so did the team. Katie’s husband casually mentioned at work that his wife bred Goldendoodles, and a coworker shared that his wife, Kassidee, had always wanted one. Not long after, Kassidee welcomed Kali home as a guardian puppy. When Kali was about a year old, Kassidee began regularly helping Katie with puppy baths and later temperament assessments. Their friendship deepened—and so did the business.

With more dogs and puppies, it became increasingly difficult for Katie’s family to step away for vacations. Around this time, Katie connected online with Madilyn through a breeder resource group and discovered she was local to Colorado. After watching Madilyn thoughtfully build her own program, Peaks Premium Poodles, with the same strong focus on health and temperament, Katie asked if she would help care for the dogs while her family traveled. Madilyn quickly became the go-to dog sitter and an invaluable part of the team.

In 2025, Katie’s family decided to embrace a more adventurous, travel-focused season of life. She asked Kassidee and Madilyn if they would be interested in raising litters as part of Centerpiece Puppies—and they enthusiastically agreed. A mini nursery was built in Kassidee’s backyard, and Madilyn moved into the mother-in-law suite on Katie’s property to raise litters in the on-site nursery.

Today, Katie continues to manage communication, the website, and overall program operations, while Kassidee and Madilyn focus on raising and nurturing the puppies. Madilyn typically works with the larger dogs, while Kassidee specializes in the smaller ones. All three of us share in social media updates, so you’ll see each of our faces from time to time!

We know our model is a bit unconventional, but we believe it’s one of our greatest strengths. By raising litters across multiple loving environments, each dog and puppy receives more individualized attention, care, and affection—setting them up for the very best start in life.
